CHAPTER 8
A ROCK THROWING SASQUATCH?
Not very long ago I used to live in a mobile home trailer off of Watson Creek Rd., Uhrichsville, Ohio, along with a very close friend of mine named Sarah. One afternoon in late Summer (the month of August), Sarah and I decided on going fishing in a neighbor’s lake behind our property. The lake was full of largemouth bass and we would often hold contests to see who could catch the most. For the record, we would use a “catch & release” system to ensure the lake never ran out of fish.
That particular day we decided to go fishing early and arrived at the lake around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The weatherman had predicted the temperature to fall a little towards the evening and we wanted to be ready when the fish began biting in earnest. After we made our initial casts off the damn of the lake, we sat down on the bank and began chatting while waiting on the fish to bite.
Suddenly and without warning, we noticed A ROCK was thrown into the back of the lake. “What in the world was that,” Sarah quizzically asked me? “I don’t know,” I said, “there aren’t any kids back in there that I know of, are there?” “No,” Sarah replied, “Jerry’s kids (our next door neighbor’s) are with their Mom today shopping for school clothes, they’re not even home right now.” “Then who in the world could be back in there throwing rocks,” I asked? Just then another rock was thrown in and this one was much larger, causing huge ripples to cascade across the large pond. “What in the world’s going on,” Sarah asked me once again? Then she whispered, “You don’t think it’s Bigfoot, do you?” The timing, I add, couldn’t have been more perfect.
Sarah was quite aware of my experiences with Bigfoot. And although she may have been a little reluctant to admit it, I believe Sarah was a believer in the Monster, too. She told me about a particular experience she had one night not long after we first met. She said, “David, whatever that thing was, it scared the living daylights out of me.” As Sarah was laying in bed watching t.v., she noticed an enormous figure walk past her bedroom window. For the record, her bedroom window was a good 6 to 6 and a half feet above the ground and she didn’t see the person’s head; meaning whoever had walked past it had to have been, at least, 7 feet or more in height. Then, to top matters off, she began hearing loud rapping noises on the side of her trailer. Startled out of her wits, Sarah got down out of bed and began pleading the blood of Jesus to protect her from all harm. Not long afterwards, she said, the rapping noises stopped. Sarah told me she was pretty certain that the large shadowy figure she saw through her bedroom window that night was some sort of a bigfoot creature because of its unbelievable size.
